Auditons

The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), will be at the Everett Theatre!!! A tour team will arrive in Everett with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play... except the cast. There will be an open audition with parts for 50-60 local students to perform in our production of Sleeping Beauty.   The show rehearses for the week and we will have two public performances  on Saturday, July 12, 2008. The show is an original adaptations of classic children's stories and fairytales . . . a twist on the classic stories that you know and love.  MCT's mission is the development of lifeskills in children through participation in the performing arts.

This is the third year for Missoula at the Everett Theatre and we are excited to invite them back!!!

Helping Kids Deal With Disappointment

If your child is not cast in the show this week, please remember the following. Auditions do not always seem fair. With many students auditioning for a limited number of roles, the decisions of the Tour Actor/Directors are always very difficult.

There are many ways one can react to disappointment.

  1. Give up and never try again.
  2. Choose to work on your singing and acting skills so that next time you audition you will be even better prepared.
  3. Realize that you don't have a driving desire to be on stage and decide to put your talents and energy into other activities.

Parents, how one reacts to disappointment is a tremendous test of character. Children will look to you as an example of how to react. Compliment them for their efforts and for taking a risk by auditioning for the show.
